CNC Machine Operator

Location : Maryland Heights, MO
Job Type : Contract to Hire
Compensation : open - $23 - $28
Hours : Full Time
Required Years of Experience : 4
Required Education : HS and basic machining knowledge

Job Description :
 

Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture parts to print. Use precision
measuring equipment such as height gauge, micrometer, caliper, pins, blocks, etc., to ensure
accuracy of parts.


Required Qualifications :
 

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • A working knowledge of the following machines (manual and CNC as appropriate) associated with setup and running the machine to produce parts per drawing specifications:


    • 3 and 5 axis machine centers, demonstrated ability manufacturing parts within <tolerance> and within appropriate scrap rate for the organization

    • lathes and mill-turns, demonstrated ability manufacturing parts within <tolerance> and within appropriate scrap rate for the organization

    • EDM’s (wire and ram), demonstrated ability manufacturing parts within <tolerance> and within appropriate scrap rate for the organization


  • Maintaining equipment utilized to manufacture parts per the manufacturer’s recommendations

  • Performing work to industry and organizational safety standards

  • CAD CAM software (Mazatrol, MAPPS, Opticam, and MasterCam),

  • Working understanding of common inspection practices such as read and interpret blueprints


    • maintaining appropriate inspection documentation


  • Use of mechanical and/or optical measuring equipment, and use of a CMM.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and basic machining knowledge; minimum four (4) years of experience in CNC set-up and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. NIMS credentials level I equivalency and NIMS credentials level II is a plusHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and basic machining knowledge; minimum four (4) years of experience in CNC set-up and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
